Girl

"Girl" es una canción del la banda inglesa The Beatles escrita por John Lennon y acreditada a Lennon/McCartney. Fue lanzada en 1965 en el álbum Rubber Soul.
Hoy las versiones van en varios idiomas, para todos los gustos.
Que las disfruten!

Versión: The Beatles (Inglaterra)

Versión: Dalida (en italiano)

Versión: Johnny Hallyday (en francés)

Versión: Jim Sturgess (de la película Across the Universe)

Letra:

Is there anybody gone to listen to my story
All about the girl who came to stay?
She's the kind of girl you want so much
It makes you sorry;
Still, you don't regret a single day.
Ah girl! Girl!

She's the kind of girl who puts you down
When friends are there, you feel a fool.
Didididi..
When you say she's looking good
She acts as if it's understood.
She's cool, cool, cool, cool,
Girl! Girl! [Was she]

When I think of all the times I've tried to leave her
She will turn to me and start to cry;
And she promises the earth to me
And I believe her.
After all this times I don't know why.
Ah, girl! Girl!

She's the kind of girl who puts you down when friends are there,
You feel a fool.
When you say she's looking good, she acts as if it's understood.
She's cool, cool, cool, cool, Girl! Girl!

Was she told when she was young the pain
Would lead to pleasure?
Did she understand it when they said
That a man must break his back to earn
His day of leisure?
Will she still believe it when he's dead?

Ah girl! Girl! Girl!

For no one

Versión: The Beatles (Inglaterra)

Versión: Caetano Veloso (Brasil)

Versión: Pedro Aznar (Argentina)

Versión: Darío Iglesias (Uruguay)

Versión: Connie Evingson (EEUU)

Versión: Monique Kessous (Brasil)

Letra:

Your day breaks, your mind aches
you find that all the words of kindness linger on
when she no longer needs you
She wakes up, she makes up
she takes her time and doesn't feel she has to hurry
she no longer needs you
And in her eyes you see nothing
no sign of love behind the tears
cried for no one
a love that should have lasted years!
You want her, you need her
and yet you don't believe her when she said her love is dead
you think she needs you
And in her eyes you see nothing
no sign of love behind the tears
cried for no one
a love that should have lasted years!
You stay home, she goes out
she says that long ago she knew someone but now he's gone
she doesn't need him
Your day breaks, your mind aches
there will be time when all the things she said will fil your head
you won't forget her
And in her eyes you see nothing
no sign of love behind the tears
cried for no one

a love that should have lasted years!

Lady Madonna

Versión: The Beatles (Inglaterra)

Versión: Fats Domino (EEUU)

Versión: Caetano Veloso (Brasil)

Versión: Elvis Presley (EEUU)

Versión: Tom Jones (Gales)

Letra:

Lady Madonna, children at your feet.
Wonder how you manage to make ends meet.
Who finds the money? When you pay the rent?
Did you think that money was heaven sent?

Friday night arrives without a suitcase.
Sunday morning creep in like a nun.
Monday's child has learned to tie his bootlace.
See how they run.

Lady Madonna, baby at your breast.
Wonder how you manage to feed the rest.

See how they run.
Lady Madonna, lying on the bed,
Listen to the music playing in your head.

Tuesday afternoon is never ending.
Wednesday morning papers didn't come.
Thursday night you stockings needed mending.
See how they run.

Lady Madonna, children at your feet.

Wonder how you manage to make ends meet.

Please Mr. Postman - Bo Cartero

Versión: The Marvelettes (EEUU)

Versión: The Beatles (Inglaterra)

Versión: The Carpenters (EEUU)

Versión: Bo Cartero - Cuarteto de Nos (Uruguay)

Letra Please Mr. Postman:

Wait, oh yes wait a minute mister postman
Wait, wait mister postman

Mister postman look and see
Is there a letter in your bag for me
I been waiting a long long time
Since i heard from that girl of mine

There must be some word today
From my girlfriend so far away
Please mister postman look and see
If there's a letter, a letter for me
I been standing here waiting mister postman
So patiently
For just a card or just a letter
Saying she's returning home to me

Mister postman look and see
Is there a letter in your bag for me
I been waiting a long long time
Since i heard from that girl of mine

So many days you passed me by
See the tear standing in my eye
You didn't stop to make me feel better
By leaving me a card or a letter

So mister postman look and see
Is there a letter in your bag for me
I been waiting a long long time
Since i heard from that girlfriend of mine

You gotta wait a minute, wait a minute
You gotta wait a minute, wait a minute
You gotta wait a minute, wait a minute
You gotta check it and see, one more time for me
You gotta wait a minute, wait a minute
You gotta wait a minute, wait a minute
You gotta wait a minute, wait a minute
Deliver the letter, the sooner the better
You gotta wait a minute, wait a minute
You gotta wait a minute, wait a minute
You gotta wait a minute, wait a minute

Letra Bo Cartero:

Si no me escribe pues no encuentra birome.

Y digo, dale nene, dale nene. (Bo cartero)
Dale nene, dale nene (Bo cartero.)
Alguna carta certificada
Sino te la vas a comer doblada.

Y digo, dale nene, dale nene. (Bo cartero)
Dale nene, dale nene (Bo cartero.)
Alguna carta con un poema

Sino vamo a hacerte terrible enema.

Letra:

To lead a better life
i need my love to be here
Here, making each day of the year
changing my life with a wave of her hand
nobody can deny that there's something there
there, running my hands through her hair
both of us thinking how good it can be
someone is speaking, but she doesn't know he's there

I want her everywhere
and if she's beside me i know i need never care
but to love her is to need her everywhere
knowing that love is to share
each one believing that love never dies
watching her and hoping i'm always there

I will be there
and everywhere

here, there and everywhere

Letra:

Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a
wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps
in a jar by the door
Who is it for?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Father McKenzie writing the words of a sermon that
no one will hear
No one comes near
Look at him working, darning his socks in the night
when there's nobody there
What does he care?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby died in the church and was buried along with her name
Nobody came
Father McKenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave
No one was saved

All the lonely people (Ah, look at all the lonely people)
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people (Ah, look at all the lonely people)
Where do they all belong?

Eight days a week.

Love you every day girl,

Hold me, love me, hold me, love me.
Ain't got nothing but love babe,
Eight days a week.

Eight days a week
I love you.
Eight days a week
is not enough to show I care.

Help!

Versión: The Beatles (Inglaterra)

Video:

Versión: Caetano Veloso - Disco: Jóia (1975)

Letra:

Help! i need somebody
Help! not just anybody
Help! you know i need someone
Help!

When i was younger so much younger than today
I never needed anybody´s help in any way
And now these days are gone
I´m not so self assured
Now i find i´ve changed my mind
I´ve opened up the doors

Help me if you can i´m feeling down
And i do appreciate you being ´round
Help me get my feet back on the ground
Won´t you please, please help me?

And now my life has changed in oh so many ways
My independence seems to vanish in the haze
But every now and then i feel so insecure
I know that i just need you
Like i´ve never done before

Help me if you can i´m feeling down...

When i was younger so much younger than today...

Help me if you can i´m feeling down...

If it makes you feel all right
Cause I don't care too much for money
For money can't buy me love

I'll give you all I've got to give
If you say you love me too
I may not have a lot to give
but what I've got I'll give to you
For I don't care too much for money
For money can't buy me love

Can't buy me love
Everybody tells me so
Can't buy me love
No, no, no, no

Say you don't need no diamond ring
And I'll be satisfied
Tell me that you want those kind of things
that money just can't buy
For I don't care too much for money
For money can't buy me love

Can't buy me love
Everybody tells me so
Can't buy me love
No, no, no, no

Say you don't need no diamond ring
And I'll be satisfied
Tell me that you want those kind of things
that money just can't buy
For I don't care too much for money
Cause money can't buy me love
Ooh, can't buy me love, love
Can't buy me love, no

Letra: Tudo por amor (Rita Lee)

Tudo por amor!
Han! Han!
Tudo por amor!...

Compre o mundo inteiro
Meu bem!
Se isso lhe deixa feliz
Vá morar no estrangeiro
Meu bem!
Torrar os dólares do seu país
Você faz tudo por dinheiro
Eu faço tudo por amor...

Que grana é bom
Eu sei que é
Ninguém disse que não
Mas viver só prá isso
Não dá pé
Até faz mal pr'o coração
Você só pensa em dinheiro
Eu só penso em amor...

Tudo por amor!
Eu faço tudo por amor
Tudo por amor!
Por amor! Han!...

Vender a alma por dindim
Prá comprar sua Ferrari
Sonho de consumo
É tão chinfrim
Um belo dia
Cê vai se Ferrari
Não me venha com seu money
Que se dane!
Eu quero amor...

Tudo por amor!
Eu faço tudo por amor
Tudo por amor!
Por amor! Han!!...

Me cansa a beleza
Meu bem!
Sua griffe de milionário
Abre logo uma igreja
Meu bem!
Um banco, um bordel, um ranário
Você faz tudo por dinheiro
Eu faço tudo por amor...

Tudo por amor! Han! Han!
Tudo por amor! Han!...
